These systems mitigate peak rates of flow and even reduce runoff volume to a certain degree. They also provide considerable aesthetic and wildlife benefits. They are one of the Best Management Parctices or BMP's in use today. For County and Municipal government, this is an effective solution to deal with the impacts of development without costing deveopers so much money the go elsewhere.
