A low registration fee and localized presentations make this is a “can’t miss” opportunity for any government professional that deals with finances or human resources. Lunch is included and we have applied for approval to offer continuing education credits.
The program will be presented in two parts:
Part One: Pensions (10:00 am – 11:40 am)
The perfect storm of an economic downturn and stock market crash combined with baby boomers retiring with generous benefits has presented public employers with significant pension funding challenges that are having a lasting impact on municipal budgets and services.
Part Two: Health Care (12:30 pm – 2:10 pm)
Employers will need to amend their health benefit plans to comply with the health care reform changes, evaluate whether all or any portion of their health benefit plans will be exempt from the changes, and identify any cost-savings opportunities that may have been created by health care reform.
The schedule is the same at each location with the registration desk opening at 9:30 am, a half hour before the program begins. However, to guarantee your space and meal, registration must be received at least three business days prior to the session. We cannot guarantee meals or seating for walk-ins and there is an additional charge for those who do not register in advance.
You can tackle this difficult topic in the company of your fellow government professionals. With discussion led by experts, this seminar will provide up-to-date information on pensions and the impact of healthcare reform for employers. An interactive format is encouraged that will give you the opportunity to expand upon your knowledge through discussions with the experts and peers.
Next week you will receive a printed copy of the registration brochure, but we encourage you to put this on your calendar and register now using the form on the attached brochure or the online registration option at www.gfoapa.org.
The following Continuing Education Credit has been applied for and approval is pending:
CPE Credit: 2 Hr./ Accounting and Auditing & 2 Hr./Specialized Knowledge and Applications
APMM: 1.5 Credits – Categories TBD
